Lawyers might be at risk of replacement by AI

A new study from US researchers has concluded that legal services is one of the most AI-exposed industries. Up to 44% of legal work could be automated, which comes as a concern to many. While there have been worries about automation replacing legal workers since 2011, rapid progress in AI is improving skills like reading, analyzing, and summarizing. All in the profession will have to gain skills to stay ahead, focusing on exercising judgment and building relationships with clients.


This is not the only career path impacted by AI. The speed at which technology is improving has been minimizing routine tasks and improving productivity across industries, though it could be at a cost to some human workers.
