Lawmakers are struggling to keep up with the pace of AI

While some members of Congress have spoken about the potential dangers of AI, no bills have yet been proposed to regulate it. In fact, most lawmakers do not know what AI is. This exposes the public to irresponsible AI development.


There has been some action on AI regulation within federal agencies, but no efforts have been codified as law. This is a concern because while some AI developers approve of controls on their technology, this can’t be said of all.
