According to the BBC, tech pioneer Martha Lane Fox warns against becoming too hysterical over AI. Many are concerned that AI is not sufficiently regulated, with Italy banning ChatGPT last week. Despite reasonable anxieties around the new technology, Lane Fox believes we should be embracing the opportunities it can offer.
Some in the tech industry are growing concerned with the reach and impact that AI could have, but others are in favour of increasing regulation of AI, as well as diversity in tech to minimize ill effects. What everyone can agree on is that national and corporate policies have not yet caught up to rapidly evolving AI technology.
