According to CNBC, Google employees are criticizing CEO Sundar Pichai for his rushed announcement of GPT competitor Bard. In their rush to get ahead of Microsoft’s announcement regarding the new Bing, Google leadership made crucial errors in the Bard rollout. Google employees showed their disappointment by taking to the internal forum Memegen, calling Pichai “myopic” and “un-Googlely.”
At a time when Microsoft has the upper hand by combining AI technology with searching capabilities, Google’s misstep has led to doubts about the company going forward. Shares have fallen more than 9% this week with concerns that the new Bing will threaten Google’s core model.
