According to a new study from academics in South Korea, ChatGPT was better than random selection when it came to measures of risk-adjusted return and diversification. The researchers noted that ChatGPT could be used as a “co-pilot” for investors.
Financial firms including Morgan Stanley are already testing OpenAI-powered chatbots to aid in investment decision-making. Those in the industry say that AI will not be replacing portfolio managers anytime soon, but as language-learning models continue to improve, AI could become much more involved in investing.
