Bitcoin has recently experienced a significant surge, reaching its highest value since May 2022 due to speculation surrounding the potential approval of a Bitcoin ETF. Reports suggest that the SEC may not contest a recent court ruling, which has strengthened anticipation for ETF approval. In the realm of artificial intelligence technology, tech giants like Microsoft and Nvidia are making substantial progress. Microsoft, following its recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard, has declared plans to invest $3.2 billion to enhance its AI and cloud computing capabilities in Australia over the next two years. This move is part of Microsoft's strategy to strengthen its position in the AI market. Nvidia, a leading player in AI computing chips, is reportedly considering entering the personal computer market, a domain traditionally dominated by Intel. The company is developing CPUs capable of running Microsoft's Windows operating system, leveraging technology from Arm Holdings. Although Nvidia may face challenges due to recent stricter restrictions on AI chip exports to China by the US, the company maintains it won't significantly impact its business due to global demand for their products and compliance with regulations. Analysts remain optimistic about NVDA stock due to Nvidia's position as the primary beneficiary of AI's rapid expansion. However, with the advent of powerful generative artificial intelligence tools, the risk of cyber threat increases. Researchers at the University of Sheffield have found that natural language processing (NLP) AI systems, such as ChatGPT, can be manipulated into generating harmful code for real-world cyber-attacks. This finding contradicts previous assertions that AI-generated code would be largely ineffective without significant human intervention. The research team examined six AI tools, including Baidu-Unit, AI2SQL, AIhelperbot, Text2SQL, and ToolSKE, along with ChatGPT. They manipulated these AIs into writing harmful code that, if executed, could leak confidential information, disrupt, or even destroy a database's regular functioning.
